    Gentlmen/ Members of the chamber

    Greetings,

Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest regards to you and informs you of receiving a letter from the Saudi Chambers Union with the number (45103883) dated (19/8/1445 AH), regarding the receipt of a letter from the General Authority of Transport with the number (4817/45/1) dated (17/8/1445 AH). The letter refers to the regulations governing the activity of light goods transportation on roads issued by the decision of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services with number (1693) dated (3/12/1442 AH) and its amendments, as well as referring to the executive regulations of the Traffic Law issued by the decision of His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior with number (2249) dated (10/3/1441 AH) and its amendments.

Through regulatory inspections, it has been found that some restaurants and stores are providing delivery services through their own applications by contracting with unlicensed companies in "light goods transportation on roads" using vehicles not licensed by the authority. In order to ensure compliance with this activity and improve the quality of service provided to beneficiaries, the authority emphasizes the necessity of restricting contracts for delivery services through a third party to licensed companies engaged in the activity of "light goods transportation on roads." Delivery operations using cars should be carried out using vehicles registered for public transport and holding a valid operating card issued by the authority. This excludes motorcycles until specific regulations for them are issued.

    Sincerely
